On March 28, 2011 David Johnson was promoted to Captain over the Criminal Investigations Division and the IT Division.
Captain Johnson started his law enforcement career with the North Wilkesboro Police Department in February of 1990. Captain Johnson is a graduate of Wilkes Central High School.
Captain Johnson has earned his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the North Carolina Justice Academy. This is the highest certificate a Law Enforcement officer can receive from the Training and Standards Division of North Carolina.
While at the police department Captain Johnson's duties have included Patrol Officer, Narcotics Investigator, ABC Officer, and Investigations Sergeant. He oversees 4 investigators and 2 dispatchers.
