Bobby Huie, Jr.
Lieutenant
Lieutenant Bobby Huie, Jr. serves as the Commander of the Information Technology Division. Huie started work full time with NWPD on April 17, 1995.
Huie began his law enforcement career at the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Department in May 1994. In 1995 Huie accepted a position with NWPD as the departments first K-9 officer. Huie and his K-9 partner Rico were assigned to the patrol division. Huie graduated his handling school as a Master Handler. Huie continues to keep his US Certification with American Society of Canine Trainers as a Department Trainer-Master Handler.
In 1996 Huie assisted in creating the departments Crime Prevention Unit. In 2001 Huie was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to third shift. In 2005 he began working with the Narcotics Division and in 2008 was promoted to Lieutenant. Huie strives constantly to keep our equipment up with the latest technology.
