Randy Bennett


Captain

Captain Bennett began his law enforcement career as a police officer in March 1986. Captain Bennett is originally from Alleghany County. He came to North Wilkesboro Police Department and was sworn in as a police officer in July 1987. He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 1990 and to Captain over the Patrol Division in 1995.

Captain Bennett has a two year degree from Surry Community College and has earned his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate the highest honor a Law Enforcement Officer can receive from the State of North Carolina.

Captain Bennett's duties include doing payroll for the department and safety coordinator for special events held in the Town of North Wilkesboro. He is in charge of the planning, coordinating and making sure everyone stays safe while attending events like the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival, July 4th Fireworks, Fire Truck Parade, Downtown Lighting Ceramony and the Christmas Parade.

His experience in planning these events keeps the public coming back each year knowing they will be safe when they visit to North Wilkesboro.
